Boracay (2 days)

Boracay is paradise on earth. When you think of the Philipines, you think of white sandy beaches, palm trees, and turquoise waters. But you probably do not think about luxury hotels and water that looks just like the Maldives.

Boracay is a perfect place to start your 2 weeks in Philippines itinerary. As you arrive to this tropical island, you are greeted with the most pristine beaches, welcoming smiles of the locals, and of course a fresh coconut.

How to get to Boracay

✈️ The easiest and most time efficient way to get to Boracay is to fly there. However, bear in mind that there are two airports in Boracay: Kalibo International Airport (KLO) and the Caticlan and Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH).

We flew into MPH as we found that this airport was closer to the island.

Where to stay in Boracay

With an outdoor pool and perfectly spacious rooms with a view, the Movenpick is the perfect option if you are looking for a nice hotel but don’t want to splurge too much.

Shangri-La Boracay ($$$)

We stayed at the Shangri La and absolutely loved it. The hotel includes a boat transfer and when you arrive, you are greeted with performers with drums to welcome you.

The facilities at the hotel are of course amazing and luxury, with the most amazing breakfast buffet from Asian to European food. There is also a 1148 foot private beachfront, 2 stunning outdoor pools and spacious guest rooms and villas. The hotel has 4 restaurants and 2 bars, so you will definitely find everything you need here without having to leave the hotel.

It is an ideal place to stay especially if you are travelling as a couple or looking for a more upscale hotel.

Things to do in Boracay

Visit the White Beach

White beach is the most famous beach in Boracay. Known for its pristine white sand and crystal clear water, it could even be said that this is the best beach in the Philippines.

Do not miss the chance to come here and to relax by the beach, snorkel or walk along the shore. There are also some watersports that you can do here and make sure to stay for sunset as it is really spectacular here.

Visit D’Mall

Boracay is famous for its nightlife and party scene, so if you want to experience the vibrant soul of the island, head to D’Mall.

Located on White Beach, this is where you will find lots of restaurants, souvenir shops, entertainment and much more.

Willy’s Rock for sunset

If you want to watch the most spectacular sunset in Boracay (which you should – as Boracay is known for these!), head to Willy’s Rock around sunset time.

The views from Willy’s Rock are absolutely spectacular, offering a view to the beach and the sea. Visit here during the day for some pictures or to catch the famous Boracay sunset.

Diniwid Beach

If you want to avoid crowds and visit a less touristy beach on the island, head to Diniwid Beach. This beach is located only a 10 minute walk from White Beach so it is easily accessible. You can relax, enjoy watersports, snorkel, and watch the sunset here.

El Nido (4 days)

el nido 2 weeks philippines itinerary

El Nido was our favourite place on the whole trip. This is a paradise island located in Palawan, with the most beautiful beaches, sunsets, and a very diverse marine life. It is a popular place among backpackers and travellers seeking adventure and natural beauty.

I would recommend staying 4 days here out of your 2 weeks Philippines itinerary to be able to relax and enjoy, while making the most of your visit to this stunning island.

How to get to El Nido

There are a couple different ways to fly to El Nido:

✈️ Fly straight to El Nido Airport with Air Swift. There are direct flights from Manila, Boracay and other places in the Philippines, bit these flights are not every day so make sure to check the schedule when planning. We chose this option as we were had limited time so wanted to get to El Nido as soon as possible. This is also the most convenient option so if you can, it is definitely best to fly directly to El Nido.

✈️ Fly to Puerto Princessa where flights are more regular and take a 5 hour bus or transfer to El Nido. Depending on your group size, you can get a private transfer and split the cost.

Where to stay in El Nido

Panorama El Nido ($$)

Staying at Panorama was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

Facing the sea, the hotel has the best sunset views you will find anywhere on the island. El Nido has some of the best sunsets in the world and the beach club of Panorama offers the perfect viewing spot.

The hotel also has an amazing Spanish restaurant (approved by the Spaniards on our trip), a perfect breakfast selection, a pool, massages and laundry on request.

This resort is an experience in itself, and staying here is a true tropical heaven. From around £600 a night, guests can enjoy access to the stunning infinity pool and a restaurant on site.

The private villas face the beach and are ideal for couples on their honeymoon or just a romantic stay.

Things to do in El Nido

Island hopping tours

The most popular activity to do in El Nido is to do an island hopping tour. There are multiple tours you can do that take you to different locations – tours A, B, C and D. We chose to do Tour A as this is the most popular and most recommended tour. We saw spots such as the Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Seven Commandos Beach and more.

If you are staying in El Nido for 4 days or longer, I would recommend doing tours A and C to see some of the most beautiful places in the Philippines.

Explore the town

The town in El Nido is charming and lively in the evenings, with lots of restaurants, bars and clubs. We spent almost every evening here, and the restaurants we loved were Big Bad Thai and Gorgonzola Pizza.

We had the best time in town one night when we discovered Little Havanna Bar, a bar with cocktails and live music. The performers here were truly talented and we had the best time dancing till sunrise.

Go zip lining

If you are looking for an adventure or a unique experience, make sure to go zip lining at Las Cabanas beach. This is a great way to experience something unique and see the stunning beaches from above.

Visit Nacpan beach

This four-kilometer beach is the most beautiful beach in El Nido and definitely worth a visit if you have time. You can sunbathe here and simply soak in the stunning surroundings, or if you fancy water sports, you can also try surfing, kayaking, and stand up paddleboarding.

Coron (4 days)

The next stop on your 2 weeks Philippines itinerary will be Coron. This stunning destination was probably the most impressive place on our itinerary. The nature of your stay here will be very similar to El Nido, as you go island hopping and discover the unbelievable places around.

Again, 4 days here is the perfect amount to make the most of the island hopping tours and discover top things to do in Coron.

How to get to Coron

It is quite easy to get from El Nido to Coron.

✈️ First option is to fly directly to Coron. This is what we did and it was very quick and easy.

The water temperature ranges from 38 – 40° Celsius (102 – 104° F) and some people have claimed that the hot springs have healing properties. It is a great place to relax with friends and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Coron Bay Wrecks
